‘Bayern Munich would be foolish to let Luis Diaz or Michael Olise go’ – Jan-Christian Dreesen

Bayern Munich have moved to end speculation surrounding the futures of Luis Diaz and Michael Olise, with club CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen insisting the Bundesliga champions have no intention of allowing either winger to leave this summer.

Speaking at a press club event in Munich on Tuesday, Dreesen rejected reports linking the attacking pair with moves away from the Allianz Arena, describing any decision to sell Diaz as a mistake.

The Colombian winger, who joined Bayern in 2025, has reportedly attracted interest from Saudi Arabia, while Olise has been linked with a possible switch to Real Madrid following his impressive performances during France’s run to the World Cup semi-finals.

However, Dreesen dismissed the speculation and insisted Bayern have received no approach for either player.

“It’s surprising to see what gets said when you know the truth yourself; it’s interesting,” the 58-year-old said.

On Olise’s future, Dreesen was clear that the France international remains part of Bayern’s plans for next season.

“Obviously” he would be at Bayern next season, the CEO said, adding that he had received “zero” calls from Real Madrid “and not a single letter, fax or email either.”

Bayern determined to keep attacking firepower

Dreesen delivered a similar message when asked about Diaz, who signed a contract with Bayern running until 2029.

“The same applies there: no calls, nothing else,” he said.

“We’d be foolish to do so. We have such a good team; let them play and score goals.”

Both Diaz and Olise have long-term contracts with the German champions, with their current deals set to expire in 2029.

Bayern view the duo as key figures in their attacking rebuild and are keen to see them continue developing alongside the club’s other attacking stars.

Olise enjoyed a strong first season in Germany after arriving from Crystal Palace in 2024, while Diaz has quickly established himself as an important option following his move from Liverpool.

Kane extension remains on Bayern’s agenda

Away from transfer rumours, Dreesen also provided an update on the future of England captain Harry Kane, whose current Bayern contract expires at the end of next season.

The striker, who celebrated his 33rd birthday on Tuesday, has been one of the club’s most influential players since joining from Tottenham Hotspur.

Dreesen expressed confidence that both parties are interested in extending Kane’s stay at the club, although discussions will determine whether an agreement can be reached.

“There’s a strong desire (to extend) on both sides. We’ll have to see how that desire aligns.”

Kane enjoyed another prolific campaign last season, scoring 61 goals and providing seven assists in 51 appearances across all competitions.
