After the player posted an Instagram story denying claims that journalist Romain Molina had defamed his family, Molina responded with what he presented as hard evidence.

He then shared two photos that appeared to show Mbaye’s parents wearing Chelsea and Aston Villa shirts, alongside claims that the family had been in contact with both English clubs without PSG’s knowledge. That response shifted the story from a social-media dispute into a much bigger transfer and trust issue around the player’s camp.

The most damaging detail may have been Mbaye’s quick decision to delete his own denial. In the modern social-media world, that kind of retreat often reads as a sign that the original defence was weak. It also gave more weight to Molina’s version of events, rather than less.

For PSG, the wider concern is now clear: repeated tension around the player’s entourage is said to have affected his standing inside the squad. The club is increasingly being forced to deal with a relationship problem as much as a sporting one.
