Morocco midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi praised as ‘a coach on the field’ by João Sacramento

Morocco assistant coach João Sacramento has described Ayyoub Bouaddi as “a coach on the field”, praising the young midfielder’s intelligence, maturity and exceptional understanding of the game.

Speaking about the highly rated midfielder, Sacramento said Bouaddi possesses qualities that set him apart from players of a similar age, highlighting both his football intelligence and his character.

“When you get to know Bouaddi, you quickly realize that he is a different kind of player. He is a very intelligent young man. If he hadn’t become a footballer, I am convinced that he would have succeeded in any other field. His maturity far exceeds his age,” he said.

Sacramento, who serves as Mohamed Ouahbi’s assistant with the Moroccan national team, believes the midfielder’s decision-making and tactical awareness are among his greatest strengths.

To illustrate his point, the coach recalled an incident during Morocco’s match against Brazil.

During a scheduled water break, Bouaddi proposed a tactical adjustment involving the positioning of one of the team’s wingers to improve the way Morocco closed defensive spaces.

According to Sacramento, the suggestion immediately caught the attention of the coaching staff because it mirrored a discussion they had held only moments earlier.

“What’s interesting is that the coaching staff had just discussed the same solution a few moments earlier. This shows his ability to analyze a game, grasp the details, and understand what the team needs on the field,” he explained.

The assistant coach said the episode demonstrated Bouaddi’s advanced reading of the game and his capacity to identify tactical solutions while still on the pitch.

Sacramento believes those qualities make the midfielder much more than a technically gifted player, describing him as someone who naturally thinks like a member of the coaching staff during matches.

“He’s a complete player who behaves like a coach on the field. His performance against Brazil didn’t surprise us, because we know his character and his potential. I’m convinced he’ll soon join the elite,” he concluded.

Bouaddi’s growing reputation has continued to gather momentum thanks to his performances and his tactical maturity, with the Morocco coaching staff viewing him as one of the country’s brightest emerging talents.
