Senegalese centre-back Moussa Sogue has joined Olympique Akbou on a free transfer from Ouakam, strengthening the Algerian club’s defensive options ahead of the new campaign.

The 25-year-old moves from the Senegalese side after his contract came to an end, allowing Olympique Akbou to complete the deal without paying a fee. The transfer is a permanent move, with Sogue now set to continue his career in Algeria’s Ligue 1.

Sogue, who is valued at around €50,000, operates primarily as a central defender and arrives in North Africa looking to establish himself in a new league after his spell with Ouakam in Senegal’s top flight. His switch marks a step across borders within the African game, linking the Senegalese Ligue 1 and the Algerian Ligue 1.

Ouakam provided the platform for Sogue to perform in senior football, and his development there has earned him this move into a different footballing environment. The transfer also underlines Olympique Akbou’s willingness to recruit from the West African market as they reshape their squad.

The deal was finalised on 28 July 2026, confirming Sogue as an Olympique Akbou player on a free transfer from Ouakam.
