Jimson Stephen Mwanuke: Tanzania’s Fountain Gate playmaker linked with Mbeya City move
Tanzanian attacking midfielder Jimson Stephen Mwanuke is being linked with a return to his hometown to join Mbeya City from Fountain Gate. The 27-year-old, who currently plays through the middle in an advanced role for the Dodoma-based side, is understood to be on the radar of the Premier League club as they look to add creativity to their squad.
Born in Mbeya on 14 January 1999, Mwanuke has emerged as one of Fountain Gate’s key attacking options since joining the club on 1 July 2025. A right-footed playmaker standing at 1.68m, he has been used primarily behind the striker, offering a link between midfield and attack for the Tanzanian outfit.
The prospect of a move to Mbeya City would mark a significant step for the midfielder, combining a return to his birthplace with the chance to compete in one of the country’s most competitive football environments. Mbeya City are assessing options in the final third and see Mwanuke’s profile as fitting their search for an attacking midfield presence.
Mwanuke is currently on the books of Fountain Gate FC with no publicly known end date to his contract, leaving the structure of any potential deal unclear. For now, Fountain Gate retain the player’s registration, and any transfer would require agreement between the clubs before Mbeya City can formalise their interest.
