Bertrand Traore: Burkina Faso Winger Linked with Porto Move After Becoming Free Agent

Bertrand Traore, the Burkina Faso right winger currently without a club, is being linked with a move to Portuguese giants Porto as he weighs up his next step at the age of 30.

Traore became a free agent this summer and is available on a free transfer, a situation that is understood to have alerted Porto as they look to strengthen their attacking options for the new Liga Portugal campaign. The forward, who prefers to operate from the right and cut inside on his left foot, is currently valued at around €4 million, but any deal would focus on salary and bonuses rather than a transfer fee.

Born in Bobo-Dioulasso and capped by Burkina Faso, Traore has built a reputation in European football over the past decade and notably reached the Europa League final with Ajax in the 2016-17 season, finishing as runner-up in that competition. His experience in continental competition is believed to be one of the factors making him an attractive target for Porto as they balance domestic ambitions with European commitments.

Traore has been unattached since 1 July 2026 and is free to negotiate and sign immediately outside of the traditional transfer window constraints. With no contract currently tying him down, his camp is expected to assess Porto’s interest alongside any other proposals that emerge in the coming days.
