Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane: Tunisia Midfielder Linked with Al-Shamal Switch from Al Ahly

Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane, the Tunisia international midfielder currently at Al Ahly, is being linked with a move to Qatari Stars League side Al-Shamal SC. The 26-year-old central midfielder is understood to be attracting interest from the Doha-based club as they look to strengthen their options in the middle of the pitch.

Ben Romdhane, who plays in central midfield and is valued in the region of €900,000, remains under contract with Al Ahly until 30 June 2029, meaning any deal would require the Egyptian Premier League champions to agree a fee rather than sanction a free transfer. That long-term agreement underlines Al Ahly’s strong contractual position in any negotiations.

The Tunisian, now in what is typically considered a player’s prime years, has established himself at Al Ahly and his performances have drawn attention beyond Egypt’s top flight. A switch to Al-Shamal would see him trade the Egyptian Premier League for the Stars League, in a move that would add a Tunisia international presence to the Qatari club’s midfield.

While talks have not been publicly confirmed, the length of Ben Romdhane’s contract at Al Ahly is likely to be a key factor in how the situation develops in the coming weeks, with the Cairo club not under any immediate pressure to sell. For now, the 26-year-old remains tied to Al Ahly on a deal running to 2029.
