Seif Fathy: Egyptian goalkeeper joins El Rebat & Anwar on free transfer

Egyptian goalkeeper Seif Fathy has joined El Rebat & Anwar on a free transfer from G Football Club.

The 31-year-old, born in Cairo, has signed a deal running until 30 June 2028, committing the experienced shot-stopper to El Rebat & Anwar for the next two seasons. His move keeps him in Egyptian football after a year with G Football Club, whom he had also joined as a free agent.

Fathy arrives as a right-footed specialist in the goalkeeping position, adding depth and experience to El Rebat & Anwar’s options between the posts. His career has taken in a series of domestic and overseas spells, giving him a varied background before this latest switch.

After coming through the youth ranks at Petrojet, Fathy moved abroad at a young age, spending time with Manchester City’s youth setup before continuing his development with Ujpest’s under-17 side. He later returned to Egypt with Pyramids’ youth team before stepping into senior football with Harras Hodoud.

Subsequent moves to CD La Granja and PE Sant Jordi in Spain added further experience outside Egypt, before Fathy re-established himself in his home country with La Viena FC, T. Beni Suef, Kima Aswan and most recently G Football Club, all on free transfers.

Fathy’s arrival at El Rebat & Anwar marks the latest permanent move in a career characterised by regular changes of club, and he is now under contract with his new side until the summer of 2028.
