Hull City have identified Ivorian international Evann Guessand as a leading transfer target as the newly promoted Premier League side looks to strengthen its attacking options ahead of the new season.

The forward’s future has become increasingly uncertain after a difficult campaign in England, where he split the season between Aston Villa and a loan spell at Crystal Palace.

Although Africasoccer had previously reported that Guessand was expected to remain, a departure now appears to be the most likely outcome.

According to exclusive information obtained by Africasoccer, Hull City are determined to secure the services of the 25-year-old striker.

The club’s recruitment team is said to have been impressed by his physical presence, pace and attacking attributes, viewing him as a key addition in their bid to preserve their Premier League status.

Guessand, who came through the youth ranks at OGC Nice, arrived in England with high expectations but faced a challenging first season.

His opportunities were limited as he adapted to the demands of English football, resulting in inconsistent playing time throughout the campaign.

Despite those challenges, the Ivory Coast international featured in 35 matches across all competitions. He scored four goals during that period, with only one of those coming in the Premier League.

While those numbers may appear modest, they have not diminished interest in the striker. His lack of regular minutes is considered a significant factor behind his statistics, and his athleticism and attacking qualities continue to attract attention from clubs searching for reinforcements.

Hull City are not the only side monitoring the situation. Turkish Süper Lig club Trabzonspor have also made enquiries about the striker’s availability as they explore options to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes.

However, according to sources cited by Africasoccer, Guessand’s preference is to remain in England rather than pursue a move to Turkey.

Continuing his career in the Premier League is understood to be his priority as he looks to establish himself after a season of adaptation.

The striker remains under contract with Aston Villa until June 2030, giving the club control over his immediate future.

A loan move or a permanent transfer to Hull City is among the possibilities being considered, with the prospect of regular first-team football viewed as an attractive opportunity for the Ivorian to rebuild confidence and showcase his abilities.

Negotiations involving the interested parties are expected to gather pace in the coming days as Hull City continue their efforts to bring Guessand to the MKM Stadium before the transfer window closes.
