Yanis Massolin: Inter’s Franco-Algerian midfielder linked with Sassuolo move in Serie A shake-up

France- and Algeria-qualified attacking midfielder Yanis Massolin is being linked with a move from Inter to Serie A rivals Sassuolo, with the 23-year-old understood to be on the Emilian club’s list of creative options for the current window.

Massolin only joined Inter permanently earlier this year, moving from Modena on 2 February 2026 in a deal worth around €3.5 million before immediately returning there on loan for the rest of the season. He then officially became part of Inter’s squad at the end of that spell on 30 June.

Sassuolo’s interest comes after Massolin’s productive campaign in Serie B with Modena, where he produced three goals and three assists in 28 league matches, plus another full appearance in the promotion play-offs. Standing at 1.97m and operating primarily as an attacking midfielder, his left foot and output in Italy’s second tier have marked him out as a potential option for a side looking to refresh its attacking midfield department.

Inter are under no immediate pressure to sell, with Massolin’s contract at San Siro running until 30 June 2030 and his current market value listed at €4.5m. Any negotiations with Sassuolo would therefore be expected to reflect his long-term deal and recent transfer fee from Modena.

For now, Massolin remains an Inter player preparing for the new season, with his future likely to depend on how strongly Sassuolo follow up their initial interest and whether the Nerazzurri are willing to sanction another departure so soon after securing his services.
