Waliu Ojetoye: Nigerian right-back joins Vitkovice from Vlasim

Nigerian defender Waliu Ojetoye has joined Czech side Vitkovice from Vlasim, with the 22-year-old right-back making the switch ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. The Lagos-born full-back links up with the Moravian club as they prepare for the new season in the MSFL.

Ojetoye, who stands at 1.80m and plays primarily at right-back, has signed on after leaving Vlasim, where he had been part of a squad competing in the Czech National Football League. The move was completed on 25 July 2026, with Vitkovice confirming his arrival as part of their summer rebuild.

The Nigeria-born defender is right-footed and is being brought in to strengthen Vitkovice’s defensive options on the flank. He is yet to feature competitively for his new club, having been an unused player so far in the early stages of the 2026-27 MOL Cup, but is expected to be available for selection as league fixtures begin.

Ojetoye’s transfer underlines Vitkovice’s strategy of adding younger senior players with experience in Czech football, as they look to compete in the third tier. Having already been exposed to the demands of the domestic game at Vlasim, the move offers him a platform to establish himself at first-team level.

Born on 29 April 2004, Ojetoye now begins the next phase of his career in Ostrava, with his registration completed and his switch from Vlasim to Vitkovice finalised.
