Ajax teenager Zakaria Ouazane linked with Eredivisie move to FC Twente

Morocco-Netherlands youth winger Zakaria Ouazane of Ajax U21 is being linked with a move to Eredivisie side FC Twente as the Enschede club assess wide attacking options for the new season.

Ouazane, 19, is currently with Ajax’s under-21 squad in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie and is under contract with the Amsterdam club until 30 June 2027. Any deal is therefore expected to require a transfer fee, with the left winger’s market value currently rated at around €200,000.

Born in Amsterdam on 24 September 2006, the 1.92m right-footed attacker has come through the ranks at Ajax after initially joining from Zeeburgia’s youth set-up in 2016. He has progressed year by year through the club’s age groups, moving from the under-17s to the under-18s, then the under-19s, before stepping up to Ajax U21 ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

Twente’s interest comes as the Eredivisie side look domestically for emerging talent capable of making the transition from development football to the top flight. A move from Ajax’s second team to a first-team environment in Enschede would represent a significant step up in competition and exposure for the teenager.

Ouazane’s development at Ajax U21 and his contract running to 2027 give the Amsterdam club a strong negotiating position, and there has been no indication so far that an agreement between the clubs is close. For now, the left winger remains part of Ajax’s under-21 set-up as preparations continue for the new Keuken Kampioen Divisie season.
