Zakaria Ouazane: FC Twente eye move for Ajax U21 winger in Eredivisie bid

Dutch-Moroccan winger Zakaria Ouazane of Ajax U21 is being linked with a move to Eredivisie side FC Twente as the Enschede club explore attacking reinforcements ahead of the new campaign.

The 19-year-old, currently playing in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie with Ajax’s second team, is under contract in Amsterdam until 30 June 2027, meaning any deal would require Twente to negotiate a transfer fee rather than wait for a free move. Ouazane is valued at around €200,000, a figure that is expected to frame the early stages of any talks.

Born in Amsterdam on 24 September 2006, Ouazane represents both Morocco and the Netherlands at national level and has come through the Ajax system after joining from Zeeburgia’s youth ranks in 2016. Standing at 1.92m and operating primarily as a left winger who prefers his right foot, he has steadily progressed through the age groups, moving from Ajax U17 to U18 in 2022, then to U19 in 2023.

He stepped up to Ajax U21 on 4 August 2025, earning a place in the club’s professional set-up in the Dutch second tier and has since been part of the squad competing in the country’s highly regarded development league. His current role at Ajax U21 and length of contract give the Amsterdam club a strong negotiating position as Twente assess whether to formalise their interest.
