Sylla Sow: Free Agent Dutch-Senegalese Striker Linked with Al-Ula Move

Dutch-Senegalese centre-forward Sylla Sow, currently a free agent after leaving Abha, is being linked with a return to the Saudi First Division League with Al-Ula. The 29-year-old, whose market value is listed at €900,000, became available on 1 July 2026 and is understood to be on the radar of the ambitious second-tier side as they look to strengthen their attack.

Sow enjoyed a prolific 2025-26 campaign in Saudi Arabia, scoring 27 goals in the First Division League to finish as the competition’s top scorer and help Abha win the second tier title. In total, he has 39 goals and 11 assists from 64 appearances in the division, underlining his effectiveness in that specific league environment.

Having started his senior career in the Netherlands with Utrecht’s youth set-up before moving to RKC Waalwijk, Sow built up substantial Eredivisie experience, making 106 appearances and contributing 15 goals and seven assists. He also had a spell in England with Sheffield Wednesday in League One, where he featured 15 times.

A move to Al-Ula would mark Sow’s third Saudi club following previous stints at Al-Najma and Abha, and his recent scoring record in the country is thought to be a key factor in the interest. His status as unattached means any deal would not require a transfer fee, a point likely to appeal to clubs assessing value in the current market.

For now, Sow remains without a club after his departure from Abha at the start of July, leaving his next move open as Al-Ula weigh up whether to formalise their interest.
