Ivory Coast wonderkid Yan Diomande set for Real Madrid medical this week
Real Madrid have reportedly secured one of the biggest transfers of the summer after reaching an agreement with RB Leipzig for the signing of highly-rated Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande.
Diomande is expected to travel to Spain for his medical this week as he closes in a transfer fee worth over €100 million.
The Spanish giants, who are keen on bolstering their squad for the new campaign has beat off competition from several European powerhouse including Paris Saint Germain, Liverpool and others for his services.
With both parties agreeing a deal, Diomande is expected to complete his move to the Santiago Bernabéu in the coming days. The 19-year-old will sign a five-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 2031.
Diomande has enjoyed a rapid rise in European football, with his explosive pace, exceptional dribbling ability, creativity and eye for goal making him one of the most sought-after young wingers on the continent. His performances for RB Leipzig attracted interest from several elite clubs, but Real Madrid ultimately won the race for his signature.
The transfer, valued at over €100 million, is among the biggest involving an African player and further highlights the growing reputation of Ivory Coast as a producer of world-class football talent.
Once the medical is successfully completed, Real Madrid are expected to formally announce Diomande as their newest signing, with the Ivorian youngster set to begin preparations for the 2026/27 season alongside his new teammates.
His arrival is expected to strengthen Real Madrid’s attacking options while adding another exciting young talent to a squad already packed with emerging stars as the club continues to build for the future.
