Fenerbahce explore offers for Morocco star Sofyan Amrabat

Turkish giants Fenerbahçe are reportedly open to selling Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat amid growing interest from Saudi Arabia and Europe.

The 29-year-old has fallen out of the plans of head coach Ismail Kartal for the upcoming 2026/27 campaign, prompting Fenerbahçe to explore offers in the current window.

Interest in the Atlas Lions star has intensified in recent weeks, with several clubs monitoring his situation. While Fenerbahçe had previously rejected bids worth less than €10 million, the Turkish outfit has now received a significantly improved proposal from the Saudi Pro League.

According to reports, Saudi Arabian powerhouse Al-Ittihad has tabled an offer worth €15 million, including performance-related bonuses, in an attempt to lure the Moroccan midfielder to the Gulf.

Despite the improved proposal, Fenerbahçe are reportedly unwilling to sanction the transfer unless their valuation is met.

The Istanbul-based club are holding out for a fee of €20 million, believing Amrabat’s experience, leadership qualities and international pedigree justify the asking price.

Negotiations are expected to continue in the coming days as both clubs seek to reach an agreement.

However, Al-Ittihad are not the only club pursuing the former Morocco international.

Fenerbahçe are simultaneously engaged in discussions with another unnamed Saudi Pro League side, while two European clubs have also entered the race for Amrabat’s signature.

The growing interest has strengthened Fenerbahçe’s negotiating position, with the club hopeful that competition for the midfielder will eventually drive up his transfer fee.

Amrabat remains one of Morocco’s most accomplished midfielders, having established himself as a key figure for both club and country over the past few years.

Renowned for his aggressive ball-winning ability, tactical intelligence and composure in possession, he has consistently attracted attention from clubs competing at the highest level.

The midfielder still has two years remaining on his contract with Fenerbahçe, giving the Turkish club little pressure to accept a cut-price offer.

His contract situation has further strengthened Fenerbahçe’s stance, allowing the club to negotiate from a position of strength as interest continues to grow.

With several clubs now in contention, the coming weeks are expected to prove decisive in determining Amrabat’s future.

Should Al-Ittihad or another interested club meet Fenerbahçe’s €20 million valuation, the Moroccan international could be on the move before the close of the summer transfer window, bringing an end to what appears to be a short-lived spell with the Turkish giants.
