Bayern Munich close in on Bara Sapoko Ndiaye signing

FC Bayern are on the verge of completing a deal for Bara Sapoko Ndiaye after months of negotiations finally produced a breakthrough.

Club sporting director Christoph Freund confirmed the development on Saturday and said the 18-year-old midfielder is expected to begin the new season with the German champions.

“A few final details still need to be clarified, but I expect him to start the season with us. Bara will undergo performance tests next Monday and then join us for the training camp at Tegernsee,” Freund said at the edge of Bayern’s friendly against Wehen Wiesbaden. The exact transfer fee and contract terms have not been made public.

Ndiaye is now expected to be Bayern’s only planned addition for the central defensive midfield role this summer. That means the club will continue to rely on Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlovic and Tom Bischof for depth and competition in the position.

The move would be a major step for Ndiaye, who has been tracked as a long-term prospect rather than an immediate star name. For Bayern, the deal strengthens the feeling that they have secured a young player they believe can grow into the squad over time.
