Latif Ouedraogo: Burkina Faso Left-Back at Genoa U20 Linked with Casarano Move

Latif Ouedraogo, the Burkina Faso left-back currently with Genoa U20, is being linked with a move to Serie C side Casarano as the Italian club explore defensive options ahead of the new campaign.

The 18-year-old, who features in Primavera 1 for Genoa’s under-20s, is under contract with the Ligurian club until 30 June 2029, meaning any deal for Casarano is expected to involve negotiations over a fee rather than a free transfer. His valuation is understood to be around €1 million, a figure that would represent a significant investment for a third-tier outfit and could shape the structure of any potential agreement.

A switch to Casarano would offer Ouedraogo a route into senior professional football in Serie C – a step up in terms of competitive level from youth competition – while giving the club access to a young full-back already embedded in the Italian system. Casarano, who compete in Group C of Serie C, are looking to strengthen their squad depth for a long league season and see the left side of defence as an area where they can add bodies.

Ouedraogo has been developing within Genoa’s youth structure, gaining experience in Primavera 1 as part of a group tasked with bridging the gap between academy and first-team level. The length of his current deal underlines Genoa’s ability to drive a hard bargain if talks with Casarano progress in the coming weeks.
