Anzhi Makhachkala, the former club of Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto’o, is reportedly expressing continued interest in African players, with Lokomotiv Moscow striker Victor Obinna being the latest target.
As per Izviesta, the Dagestan club is keenly interested in the Nigerian forward, who is currently under the management of Senegalese coach Dame N’doye at Lokomotiv Moscow. There are indications that Anzhi Makhachkala might launch an offensive in the upcoming weeks to secure the recruitment of Victor Obinna during the winter transfer window. It’s worth noting that the player’s contract with Lokomotiv is set to expire in June 2015.
Born on March 25, 1987, in Josh, Victor Nsofor Obinna stands at 1m82, weighs 80kg, and is recognized for his speed on the field. After spending three years at Chievo Verona, he joined Inter Milan in 2008. Subsequently, he had a loan spell at Malaga CF (Spain) and returned on loan to West Ham (England) in August 2010.
Victor Obinna has also represented the Nigerian Super Eagles in the African Cups of 2006, 2008, and 2010. His potential move to Anzhi Makhachkala could mark an interesting development in the winter transfer market.
