Oussema Shili: Tunisia left-back leaves Club Africain for Bahrain’s Al-Khaldiya

Tunisia defender Oussema Shili has joined Bahraini side Al-Khaldiya from Club Africain in a completed move that takes the 29-year-old left-back out of Ligue 1 for the first time in his career.

Shili’s switch to Al-Khaldiya comes after a highly successful spell in Tunisian football in which he established himself as one of the league’s most consistent full-backs. Standing at 1.85m and preferring his left foot, he arrives in Bahrain with considerable top-flight experience and recent domestic honours.

The move ends his one-season stint at Club Africain, whom he joined on a free transfer in August 2024 after leaving Esperance. During his time in Tunis, Shili featured regularly in Ligue 1, where he amassed 93 league appearances, contributing six goals and 14 assists and passing the 7,900-minute mark in the competition.

Shili also has a strong record in domestic cups, scoring twice in eight Tunisian Cup matches, and has featured in continental competition, including the African Football League. His performances have underpinned a period of notable club success, with the defender winning back-to-back Tunisian league titles in 2023-24 with Esperance Tunis and 2025-26 with Club Africain.

Before his recent spells with the capital’s giants, Shili developed his career with Olympique Beja and Stade Tunisien, building his reputation in the Tunisian top flight before earning moves to bigger clubs.

The experienced left-back now begins a new chapter with Al-Khaldiya, completing a permanent move from Club Africain on 24 July 2026.
