Elias Achouri: Tunisia winger joins San Diego FC from Copenhagen in €3m move
Tunisia international Elias Achouri has joined Major League Soccer side San Diego FC from Danish champions FC Copenhagen in a €3m permanent transfer.
The 27-year-old left winger, who also holds French nationality, has signed a contract with the expansion club running until 30 June 2029 as San Diego continue to assemble their inaugural MLS squad. The deal matches his current market valuation of €3m.
Achouri arrives in the United States after a successful spell in Denmark, where he helped Copenhagen win both the Superliga title and the Danish Cup in the 2024-25 season. He moved to the capital club in July 2023 from Viborg FF, who had signed him from Portuguese side Estoril a year earlier.
Last season in the Danish Superliga’s relegation round and European play-offs, Achouri contributed three assists in six games, underlining his role as a creative wide player. Standing at 1.87m and preferring to operate off the left flank on his right foot, he adds height and versatility to San Diego’s attacking options.
On the international stage, Achouri featured for Tunisia at the 2026 World Cup, making three appearances at the tournament. His development included time in Portugal with Vitoria Guimaraes and Estoril, having earlier come through the youth system at Saint-Etienne and starting out in youth football linked to Lyon.
Achouri’s move from Copenhagen to San Diego FC is confirmed as a permanent transfer for a €3m fee, with the winger tied to the MLS club until the summer of 2029.
