Gibril Bayoumi: Franco-Moroccan goalkeeper joins Gil Vicente U23 on free transfer
Franco-Moroccan goalkeeper Gibril Bayoumi has joined Gil Vicente U23 on a free transfer from Amiens SC U19. The 18-year-old has signed a deal with the Portuguese club running until 30 June 2027.
Bayoumi, who was born in Amiens and holds both Moroccan and French nationality, moves into the Liga New Gen structure after progressing through the youth ranks at Amiens. Standing at 1.90m, he will form part of the goalkeeping group at under-23 level as Gil Vicente continue to shape their next generation of players.
The move ends Bayoumi’s long association with Amiens, where he came through the club’s youth system. He advanced from Amiens’ junior sides to the under-17 squad in 2024 before stepping up again to the U19 team ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
His switch to Gil Vicente U23 marks his first move outside France and introduces him to a different footballing environment in Portugal’s development league. By committing to a contract through to the summer of 2027, Bayoumi becomes a longer-term addition to Gil Vicente’s under-23 squad following his free transfer from Amiens SC U19.
