Nuno Tavares: Lazio left-back linked with Fiorentina move in Serie A shuffle

Portugal and Cape Verde defender Nuno Tavares, currently at Lazio, has been linked with a move to Fiorentina in a potential all-Serie A transfer for the left-back.

Tavares, 26, joined Lazio from Arsenal on a permanent deal on 1 July 2025 after an initial loan spell in Rome the previous season. He has since established himself in Serie A, making 46 league appearances for the club and providing eight assists, underlining his attacking contribution from full-back.

Fiorentina are reported to be exploring options at left-back, with Tavares viewed as a candidate who already knows the division and would not require adaptation time. His current market value is listed at €12 million, a figure that would represent a significant discount on the peak €25m valuation he held earlier in his career.

The Lisbon-born defender has built up experience across several major European leagues, including the Premier League with Arsenal and Ligue 1 with Marseille, where he scored six goals in 31 league games during a previous loan spell in France. He has also appeared in both the Champions League and Europa League, adding continental pedigree to his profile.

Tavares is under contract at Lazio until 30 June 2029, meaning any deal would require Fiorentina to negotiate a transfer fee rather than explore a free move or pre-contract agreement.
