Bayern president backs Morocco’s Saibari to make his mark in Munich

Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has expressed confidence that Moroccan international Ismael Saibari will make a significant impact at the Bundesliga champions following his arrival at the club.

Speaking to the media after Bayern completed the signings of Saibari and German defender Nathaniel Braun, Hainer said both players had already demonstrated the qualities needed to succeed at the Allianz Arena.

According to Abendzeitung journalist Maximilian Koch, the Bayern president pointed to the pair’s performances at the FIFA World Cup as evidence of their potential.

“They are both very special players, and this was evident during the World Cup,” Hainer said.

He reserved special praise for the Moroccan midfielder, adding: “Al-Sibari performed brilliantly until he was injured, and scored a goal in every match he played. As for Braun, he is a great player, we believe he will benefit us greatly… He is fast and is perfectly suited to Bayern Munich’s style.”

Saibari arrives in Munich after enhancing his reputation with a series of impressive displays for both club and country, and Bayern believe the 25-year-old has the attributes to strengthen their midfield ahead of the new season.

Praise for Bayern sporting director

Hainer also acknowledged the work of Bayern sporting director Max Eberl, who oversaw the club’s latest transfer business.

When asked whether the arrivals of Saibari and Braun had strengthened Eberl’s position at the club, the Bayern president replied: “Max Eberl has certainly done a good job by signing these two players.”

The endorsement underlines Bayern’s confidence that Saibari can continue his development in Germany as the Moroccan international looks to establish himself at one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
