Bilel Mejri: Tunisia winger joins CA Bizertin on free transfer from Al-Akhdar

Tunisia winger Bilel Mejri has joined CA Bizertin on a free transfer from Libyan side Al-Akhdar, signing a contract until June 2028.

The 30-year-old right-sided attacker returns to the Tunisian top flight with a deal that ties him to Bizertin for the next two seasons. He makes the move after a spell in the Libyan Premier League, where he had been playing since February 2025.

Mejri, a right-footed winger, brings extensive experience of Ligue 1 and continental competition. Across his career he has made more than 110 appearances in the Tunisian top division, scoring 16 goals and providing 13 assists, while also featuring in both the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.

Before moving to Libya, Mejri played for Stade Tunisien, joining them in 2022 following a spell with Olympique Beja. He had previously been part of the squads at ES Sahel and Esperance, stepping up from Esperance Tunis’ youth ranks to the senior team in 2016.

His career includes significant silverware from his time at Esperance, where he was part of sides that won back-to-back CAF Champions League titles in 2017-18 and 2018-19, as well as three consecutive Tunisian league championships between 2016-17 and 2018-19. More recently, he added a Tunisian Cup triumph with Stade Tunisien in the 2023-24 season.

Mejri’s move to CA Bizertin is a permanent free transfer and he will wear the number 11 shirt for his new club.
