Adham Hamed says he accepted Al Ahly move ‘without any conditions’

Petrojet midfielder Adham Hamed says he has given his approval to join Al Ahly and insists he did so without placing any personal conditions on the deal.

The 26-year-old confirmed live on Egyptian television that he is ready to complete a switch from the Second Division club, with negotiations now focused on talks between representatives and officials.

Hamed, speaking to Modern channel, said: “I did not put conditions to join Al Ahly, but there are clauses that are put between the agents and the club officials.”

He then underlined his stance, adding: “I agreed to join Al Ahly without any conditions.”

The player’s comments come after FilGoal.com revealed earlier that Petrojet were open to selling three of their leading players, with Hamed the most prominent name on that list.

Contract preference for Egypt’s biggest clubs

Hamed explained that while he did not make demands himself, the length of any proposed contract is naturally an important factor for players when Egypt’s biggest sides make an approach.

“When you receive an offer from Al Ahly or Zamalek or Pyramids you will prefer to get a contract with a longer duration,” he said.

No details were given on the proposed length of the deal or whether Al Ahly have yet agreed terms with Petrojet over a transfer fee.

Penalty specialist after standout season

Hamed enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last season with Petrojet, delivering his most productive year in front of goal.

Across all competitions, he made 44 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing one assist.

Remarkably, 11 of those 13 goals came from the penalty spot, underlining his role as the team’s primary taker from 12 yards and his composure in high-pressure situations.

Hamed is valued for his versatility, operating both as a defensive midfielder and as a forward, giving coaches the option to use him either deeper in midfield or in more advanced attacking positions.

Journey through Egyptian clubs

Before emerging at Petrojet, Hamed had already experienced a varied career path in Egyptian football.

He moved from Al Nasr to National Bank of Egypt in 2022, a step up that brought him into greater prominence.

In 2024, he joined El Dakhleya on loan from National Bank of Egypt, gaining further first-team experience.

Hamed signed for Petrojet in January 2025 and has been a key figure for the petroleum club since his arrival, particularly after the departures of Ahmed Reda and Hamed Hamdan, when he took on increased responsibility within the squad.

His form over the past season has now brought him to the brink of a high-profile transfer to Al Ahly, one of Egypt and Africa’s most successful and high-pressure environments, where his penalty record, positional flexibility and recent consistency have attracted serious interest.
