Emmanuel Addai: Ghanaian Winger Linked With Move to OH Leuven in Belgian Pro League

Ghanaian winger Emmanuel Addai, currently a free agent after leaving Qarabag FK, is being linked with a move to Belgian Jupiler Pro League side OH Leuven.

The 24-year-old left winger, born in Kumasi and comfortable operating from the left despite being right-footed, is understood to be on Leuven’s radar as they explore wide attacking options ahead of the new campaign. Addai’s current market value is listed at €1.2 million, but with no club at present, any deal would be expected to come without a transfer fee, potentially reducing the financial risk for the Belgian side.

Addai, who stands at 1.73m, enjoyed a breakthrough season in Azerbaijan, helping Qarabag FK secure the 2024–25 Azerbaijani league title. That championship success has pushed him into the spotlight in Europe, with Leuven among the clubs assessing whether his form in the Caucasus can translate to a higher-profile league.

Having most recently been registered without a club, Addai would be free to negotiate and sign immediately, without the constraints of a transfer window fee or buy-out clause. For Leuven, such a move would represent an opportunity to add a recent title-winner to their squad structure without entering a bidding war.

No agreement has yet been finalised, and there is no indication at this stage that talks have advanced to the final stages. For now, Addai remains unattached, weighing up his next step after his championship-winning spell with Qarabag.
