Usse Diao: Spanish-Senegalese free agent linked with Cadiz CF move

Spanish-Senegalese attacking midfielder Usse Diao, currently without a club, is being linked with a move to Cadiz CF as the LaLiga2 side assess options to strengthen their creative department.

Diao, 20, is available on a free transfer after leaving Torremolinos on 1 July 2026 and has been valued at around €100,000 in recent months. Cadiz are understood to be exploring a deal that would bring the Ndongane-born player back into an academy he knows well, having previously spent time in the club’s youth ranks.

The right-footed midfielder, who stands at 1.82m, has spent the last few seasons developing in Spain’s lower tiers and youth systems, most recently at Torremolinos following a free transfer from Betis Deportivo in August 2025. Before that move, he progressed from Betis U19 into Betis Deportivo in the summer of 2024, having joined Betis U19 earlier that year from Cadiz’s own under-19 setup.

Cadiz’s interest is understood to be driven in part by that familiarity with the player’s background, with the club considering him a low-cost option who already knows the environment and demands of their structure. A return would also mark the latest step in a journey that has taken Diao through Badajoz U19, Balon de Cadiz and Cadiz U19 before his switch to Betis.

As things stand, Diao remains a free agent after his contract with Torremolinos ended at the start of July, leaving him free to negotiate directly with Cadiz or any other interested club.
