Axel Disasi: Crystal Palace Linked With Move for Chelsea and France Centre-Back
Axel Disasi, the French centre-back currently at Chelsea, is being linked with a summer move to Crystal Palace as the Selhurst Park club explore defensive reinforcements ahead of the new Premier League season.
Palace are monitoring the 28-year-old’s situation at Stamford Bridge, with the London rivals understood to be considering whether a deal could be structured despite Disasi’s long-term contract. The defender is tied to Chelsea until 30 June 2029, a factor that is likely to make any agreement complex and potentially expensive.
Disasi is currently valued in the region of €15 million, a figure that provides a broad indication of the level at which negotiations would need to start if Chelsea were to entertain formal offers. There is no suggestion at this stage that a fee has been agreed or that talks have advanced beyond preliminary interest.
The France international, who also has eligibility for DR Congo, established himself as a central defender at Chelsea after joining the Premier League side earlier in his career. His experience at the top level and familiarity with English football are believed to be key attractions for Palace as they look to add proven options at the back.
Despite Crystal Palace’s interest, Disasi remains under a long-term deal at Chelsea, and his contractual position places the Stamford Bridge club in a strong negotiating position should any official approach be made later in the window.
