Noel Futkeu: Hamburg eye move for Frankfurt and Cameroon-Germany striker
Hamburg are exploring a move for Germany-Cameroon centre-forward Noel Futkeu from Bundesliga rivals Frankfurt. The 23-year-old, who joined Frankfurt this summer, has emerged as a potential attacking reinforcement for the north German side as they look to add a proven scorer to their frontline.
Futkeu arrives at Frankfurt on the back of a standout campaign in the 2. Bundesliga, where he finished as top scorer in the 2025-26 season with 19 goals for Greuther Furth. His form there has helped push his valuation to around €7.5 million, a figure that is expected to frame any negotiations between the clubs.
Born in Essen and standing at 1.83m, Futkeu plays as a right-footed centre-forward and has built a reputation in regional and lower leagues for consistent scoring, including a 30-goal season in the Oberliga Niederrhein in 2022-23. That output earned him a move into Frankfurt’s setup before Furth secured his services in 2024 for a reported €250,000 fee.
Frankfurt then brought him back to the club’s first team setup on 1 July 2026 for €1.3 million after his breakthrough in the second tier, positioning him as part of their attacking options ahead of the new campaign. Hamburg’s interest now raises the prospect of a swift move only weeks into his Frankfurt spell, with the forward yet to settle into his latest club despite having no publicly known end date on his current deal.
