Tyrese Asante: Dutch-Ghanaian Maccabi Tel Aviv defender linked with Kasimpasa move

Tyrese Asante, the Dutch-Ghanaian centre-back currently at Maccabi Tel Aviv, is being linked with a summer move to Turkish Super Lig side Kasimpasa. The Istanbul club are understood to be assessing a deal for the 24-year-old as they look to reinforce their defence ahead of the new campaign.

Asante, who can operate centrally in defence, joined Maccabi Tel Aviv from ADO Den Haag in July 2024 for a fee in the region of €600,000 and has since established himself in Israel, helping the club win the league title in 2024-25. He was also part of the side that lifted the Israeli Cup in 2025-26, completing a highly successful spell in domestic competitions.

The defender is valued at around €2.7 million following his impact in Tel Aviv and remains under contract until 30 June 2027, a situation that would strengthen Maccabi’s negotiating position in any talks. Kasimpasa, who compete in a league that has increasingly targeted talent from abroad, are monitoring whether a bid at that level would be enough to tempt the Israeli champions into a sale.

Asante has yet to feature in Maccabi Tel Aviv’s early 2026-27 fixtures, including their UEFA Europa League qualifying tie, adding intrigue to his short-term future. With two years remaining on his deal, any transfer is expected to hinge on Kasimpasa’s willingness to meet Maccabi’s valuation and the player’s appetite for a first move into Turkish football.
