Ismael Gharbi: Tunisia-Spain winger joins CD Leganes on loan from Braga

CD Leganes have signed Tunisia-Spain winger Ismael Gharbi on loan from Braga for the 2026-27 season. The 22-year-old left-sided attacker, who prefers to operate cutting in from the left on to his right foot, has joined the LaLiga2 club on a deal running until 30 June 2027.

Gharbi arrives in Spain from Braga, who retain his registration and will receive the player back at the end of the campaign. His move comes with the winger currently valued at around €5 million, underlining the level of investment Leganes are tapping into for their attack.

Born in Paris in April 2004 and standing at 1.80m, Gharbi developed in the Paris Saint-Germain system after leaving Paris FC’s youth ranks as a teenager. He progressed through PSG’s age groups before stepping up from the club’s under-19 side to the senior set-up in 2022.

The winger has already collected notable honours, winning the French league title twice with Paris Saint-Germain in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons before heading abroad. He left the French champions for Braga on a free transfer in August 2024 after a loan spell with Stade Lausanne-Ouchy.

Gharbi then spent time in Germany with Augsburg on loan from Braga during the 2025-26 season, gaining further experience before returning to Portugal this summer. He now moves to Leganes seeking regular football in Spain’s second tier, with the loan agreement scheduled to end on 30 June 2027, when he is due back at Braga.
