Cameroon has been selected by FIBA Africa, the African Basketball Confederation, to host the 2015 Afrobasket Women’s tournament. The Cameroon Basketball Federation will need to confirm its candidacy and submit a comprehensive file to FIBA Africa in November. Cameroon faces competition from Ivory Coast and Kenya, and the committee will evaluate the strength and quality of each country’s bid before making a final decision. The Lionesses of Cameroon, following their impressive fourth-place finish in the last tournament in Maputo, Mozambique, are hopeful of hosting the Afrobasket Women’s tournament for the first time in 2015.
