Mohammed Berrahou: German-Moroccan forward joins Fortuna Dusseldorf II on free transfer
German-Moroccan centre-forward Mohammed Berrahou has joined Fortuna Dusseldorf II on a free transfer from MSV Duisburg U19. The 19-year-old moves into senior regional football with the Oberliga Niederrhein side after catching the eye in youth competition.
Berrahou, who is comfortable with both feet, leaves Duisburg’s under-19s to link up with Dusseldorf’s second team ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. The switch, completed on 23 July 2026, marks his first move into a club’s senior set-up after progressing through the youth ranks.
Born on 25 January 2007, Berrahou has represented both Germany and Morocco at youth level and is listed primarily as a central attacker. He arrives in Dusseldorf with a strong scoring record in junior football, having reached double figures in one U19 Nachwuchsliga season and featuring regularly across various regional youth divisions.
The forward first appeared in the U17-Bundesliga West, where he built up more than 2,000 minutes of game time, before stepping into successive U19 campaigns. Across those seasons he produced a steady stream of goals and assists, as well as gaining experience in the DFB-Pokal der Junioren.
Berrahou previously came through the youth system at Schalke 04 before moving to Duisburg’s under-17 side in 2023, also on a free transfer, and then progressing to the club’s under-19 squad the following year. His move to Fortuna Dusseldorf II is a permanent transfer and sees him link up with the Oberliga Niederrhein outfit with immediate effect.
