Rani Khedira: Mainz eye move for Union Berlin midfielder in Bundesliga switch

Rani Khedira, the Tunisia and Germany midfielder currently at Union Berlin, is being linked with a move to Bundesliga rivals Mainz as the summer window gathers pace. The 32-year-old defensive midfielder, who has been a regular presence in the German top flight, is viewed as a potential reinforcement in the centre of the park for the Rhineland-Palatinate club.

Khedira is valued at around €2m and any deal would see Mainz move for a player with extensive Bundesliga experience. The right-footed midfielder has been with Union Berlin since July 2021, when he arrived on a free transfer from Augsburg.
