Vevangapi Mbuende: Namibian winger at African Stars linked with move to Gomora United

Vevangapi Mbuende, the Namibian right midfielder currently with African Stars, is being linked with a move to South African side Gomora United. The 20-year-old, who wears the number 7 shirt in Windhoek, has emerged as a reported target after breaking into continental competition with the Namibian champions.

The rumoured interest from Gomora United comes less than a year after Mbuende joined African Stars from UNAM FC. He moved ahead of the 2025-26 campaign on a free transfer and has since stepped onto the continental stage, featuring in the CAF Champions League.

Mbuende has already completed 90 minutes in the CAF Champions League for African Stars, a platform that has helped increase his visibility beyond Namibia’s borders. That appearance has underlined his role on the right side of midfield for a club that regularly competes in regional and continental fixtures.

African Stars secured Mbuende on a deal starting in July 2025, and the Windhoek club now face the prospect of interest from across the border after only one season with the player in their squad. With the Namibian league continuing to provide a pathway into the South African game, attention around one of African Stars’ wide options is expected to grow if talks progress.

For now, Mbuende remains part of African Stars’ plans, with his performances in domestic competition and in the CAF Champions League providing the platform for the current speculation over a potential switch to Gomora United.
