Hervé Renard emerges as leading candidate for several top national team jobs

Two-time Africa Cup of Nations-winning coach Hervé Renard has become one of the most sought-after managers on the international football market, with several national teams reportedly considering the French tactician for their vacant or potentially vacant coaching positions.

Renard, widely regarded as one of the most successful coaches in African football history, is attracting strong interest from Asia and the African continent following his impressive track record at international level.

The 57-year-old is among the leading contenders to become the next head coach of South Korea as the Asian nation continues its search for a new manager.

Renard’s name has also emerged prominently in South Africa, where he is considered one of the favourites to succeed Belgian coach Hugo Broos should Bafana Bafana decide to appoint a new manager.

Meanwhile, Algeria could also enter the race for the experienced coach. Reports suggest that if the situation surrounding current head coach Vladimir Petković changes, the Algerian Football Federation would make Renard one of its top priorities.

Renard’s reputation on the continent remains unmatched after leading Zambia to a historic AFCON triumph in 2012 before repeating the feat with Ivory Coast in 2015, making him the first coach to win the tournament with two different nations.

He has also managed Morocco and Saudi Arabia at FIFA World Cups, further enhancing his credentials as one of international football’s most experienced tacticians.
