Ademola Shobowale: Nigerian striker rejoins FK Podkonice on free transfer

Nigerian centre-forward Ademola Shobowale has rejoined Slovak side FK Podkonice after signing on a free transfer following a brief spell without a club.

The 23-year-old, born in Lagos and standing at 1.94m, returns to Podkonice having most recently played for Abdysh-Ata Kant. He left the Kyrgyz club in May 2026 and had been unattached before agreeing his latest move back to Slovakia.

It is the second time Shobowale has signed for Podkonice, having first arrived there from Czech side Chrudim in July 2025, also on a free transfer. He later moved mid-season to Abdysh-Ata Kant in February 2026, again without a fee involved, before being released three months later.

Shobowale, a left-footed central striker, has built up senior experience across several leagues despite his age. His recent appearances include game time in the Czech second tier and in Kyrgyzstan’s top flight and domestic cup competitions, as well as outings in the Slovnaft Cup.

He initially broke into professional football in North Africa with Egyptian club El Mokawloon in early 2023 after leaving an earlier, unregistered spell, before spending a year out of contract and resurfacing at Chrudim in the summer of 2024.

Shobowale now embarks on a third stint with Podkonice, who have opted once more to add the Nigerian forward to their attacking options on a free transfer.
