Akor Adams: Nigeria striker joins Venezia from Sevilla in €16m transfer

Nigeria forward Akor Adams has joined Venezia from Sevilla in a €16m permanent deal. The 26-year-old centre-forward has signed a contract with the Serie A club until 30 June 2030.

Adams leaves LaLiga after a season and a half with Sevilla, where he arrived from Montpellier in January 2025. His move to Italy comes with his market valuation standing at €15m, underlining Venezia’s investment in making him a key part of their attack.

The Kogi State-born striker, who stands at 1.90m and is right-footed, has built a reputation as a consistent goalscorer across several European leagues. He has reached double figures in league goals in Norway’s Eliteserien, France’s Ligue 1 and Spain’s LaLiga, including 23 goals in 38 Eliteserien matches and 10 in 36 LaLiga appearances.

Before his spell in Spain, Adams made the step into one of Europe’s top five leagues with Montpellier in 2023, having impressed at Lillestrøm after moving there from Sogndal. His performances in Norway also included returns in cup competitions and European qualifying, where he added goals and assists in limited appearances.

Venezia becomes the latest stop in a career that began in Europe with a loan move from Jamba Football Academy to Sogndal in 2018, followed by a permanent switch the following year. After progressing through Norwegian football, moving to France and then Spain, Adams now heads to Italy with a long-term deal in place.

The transfer sees Adams complete a move from Sevilla to Venezia for €16m, tying him to the Serie A club until the summer of 2030.
