Axel Disasi: AC Milan eye move for Chelsea and France defender

Axel Disasi, the France international centre-back currently at Chelsea, is being linked with a summer move to Serie A side AC Milan. The 28-year-old, who is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 30 June 2029, is understood to be on Milan’s radar as they assess experienced defensive options for the new season.

Disasi returned to Chelsea this summer after a loan spell at West Ham United in the 2025-26 campaign, during which the Hammers were relegated from the Premier League. It was his second consecutive temporary move away from Chelsea, having also spent part of the previous season at Aston Villa before heading back to west London in June 2025.

Chelsea paid €45 million to sign Disasi from Monaco in August 2023, and his current market value is estimated at around €15 million, a figure that is likely to shape any negotiations. The London club’s willingness to sanction further business will be influenced by his long-term deal and previous loan fees of €6 million to Aston Villa and €2 million to West Ham.

Born in Gonesse and standing at 1.91m, Disasi has accumulated significant top-flight experience, with more than 50 Premier League appearances for Chelsea and his loan clubs, adding to over 100 Ligue 1 outings earlier in his career. He has also featured in European competition, including the Europa League and the Champions League qualifying rounds.

Disasi was part of the France squad that finished as World Cup runners-up in 2022 and lifted the Europa Conference League trophy with Chelsea in the 2024-25 season. For now, he remains a Chelsea player preparing for the new campaign, with Milan monitoring his situation against the backdrop of a lengthy contract in west London.
