Hakim Mutebi: Ugandan midfielder joins CS Sfaxien on long-term deal

Ugandan defensive midfielder Hakim Mutebi has joined Tunisian side CS Sfaxien on a long-term contract running until June 2029. The 20-year-old has signed after a spell without a club and will link up with the Ligue 1 outfit immediately ahead of the new campaign.

Mutebi, a right-footed holding midfielder, arrives in Sfax with experience in both East African and European football despite his age. He spent part of last season with Bosnian side BSK Banja Luka, where he featured in the league and cup and was part of the squad that won the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Second League RS title in the 2025-26 season.

Before moving to Bosnia, Mutebi played in the Uganda Premier League with SC Villa Jogoo, earning his first minutes in senior football in his home country. Across his early career he has accumulated game time in league and cup competitions in Bosnia and Uganda, building a profile as a midfield shield in front of the defence.

Mutebi has been out of contract since leaving BSK Banja Luka in January 2026 and now takes the next step of his career in North Africa. With his deal at CS Sfaxien set to run until 30 June 2029, the Ugandan midfielder becomes a long-term addition to the Tunisian club’s midfield options.
