Real Betis push to re-sign Sofyan Amrabat despite lucrative Saudi offers

Real Betis are pushing hard to bring Sofyan Amrabat back to Seville, even as big-money interest from Saudi Arabia complicates the picture.

Head coach Manuel Pellegrini has personally asked the club to try to re-sign the Morocco international, who remains under contract with Fenerbahce until 2028.

Fenerbahce are prepared to sell the 29-year-old for a fee in the 15-20 million euro range, a figure that already stretches Betis’ budget.

The situation has become even tougher with Saudi Pro League sides Al-Qadsiah and Al-Ittihad entering the race: Al-Qadsiah have tabled a 20 million euro offer, and Al-Ittihad are weighing up whether to match it. Financially, Betis cannot compete with those proposals, but they are clinging to one key advantage.

Amrabat is understood to have told his representatives that he wants to continue playing at the highest level in European football and is not currently interested in a move to Saudi Arabia.

He reportedly enjoyed his previous spell at Betis and has already indicated he would be willing to lower his salary demands to facilitate a return, with Pellegrini viewing him as a pivotal signing ahead of the club’s Champions League campaign.
