Ipswich Town confirm signing of Morocco defender Issa Diop on four-year deal

Moroccan international defender Issa Diop has completed a move to newly promoted Premier League side Ipswich Town, bringing an end to his spell with Fulham.

The highly-rated centre-back signed a four-year contract that will keep him at Portman Road until June 2030. He is expected to strengthen Ipswich Town squad ahead of their return to the Premier League.

The 29-year-old joins the Blues with valuable top-flight experience, having previously featured for West Ham United and Fulham in the Premier League.

Diop began his English football journey with West Ham after moving from French side Toulouse in 2018, establishing himself as a reliable defender before making the switch to Fulham.

During his time at Craven Cottage, the Moroccan international played a key role in the club’s defensive setup, gaining further experience competing against some of the best attacking players in the league.

His arrival is expected to provide Ipswich Town with leadership, physical presence and Premier League know-how as they prepare for the challenges of top-flight football.
