Abdoulaye Sanogo, the Mali centre-back currently at Moroccan side Difaa El Jadida, is being linked with a move to Portuguese club Alverca in Liga Portugal. The 22-year-old is attracting interest after establishing himself as a regular starter in the Botola Pro Inwi and featuring in continental competition.

Sanogo, who was born in Bamako and stands at 1.87m, has built his reputation as a right-footed central defender since joining Difaa El Jadida from Djoliba AC in July 2025. He has made 24 league appearances for the Moroccan club, scoring once and passing the 2,000-minute mark in domestic action, and has also accumulated further experience in the CAF Champions League.

With his contract at Difaa El Jadida running until 30 June 2028, any deal for Sanogo would require Alverca to negotiate a transfer fee rather than pursue a free move. His current market valuation is around €325,000, a figure that could form a reference point in any talks between the clubs.

Alverca’s interest reflects a growing trend of Portuguese sides targeting defenders with experience in North African leagues and continental competitions. For Difaa El Jadida, Sanogo’s situation poses a decision between retaining a contracted starter or capitalising on interest from Europe while the player is tied down to a long-term deal.
