Akor Adams travels to Italy to complete 23m euro transfer to Venezia

Akor Adams is on the brink of joining Venezia, with Sevilla and the newly promoted Serie A side agreeing a deal worth up to 23 million euros.

The Nigeria striker is already en route to Italy and is expected to arrive later today to undergo his medical examinations before signing his contract.

The agreement between the clubs includes a guaranteed 17 million euros, plus a further 6 million euros in performance-related bonuses tied to clauses in the deal. It brings to an end several weeks of negotiations, with talks finally reaching a breakthrough over the weekend as Venezia pushed to make Adams their marquee attacking signing.

The Super Eagles forward only joined Sevilla from Montpellier in January 2025 for around 5.5 million euros, but now returns swiftly to top-flight Italian football.

On the international stage, Adams has earned 15 caps for Nigeria, scoring six goals and providing two assists. Venezia have already cleared space in their squad by sending striker Daniel Fila on loan to Serie B club Avellino. They hope Adams’ arrival will significantly bolster their attack as they prepare for the 2026/27 campaign.
