Christopher Rocchia: French-Comorian left-back joins Valenciennes from Aubagne Air Bel
French-Comorian defender Christopher Rocchia has joined Valenciennes FC from Aubagne Air Bel, with the 28-year-old left-back signing a contract until 30 June 2028.
Rocchia arrives at the Ligue 3 side after a spell with Aubagne Air Bel, whom he joined in August 2025. His move to Valenciennes is a permanent deal and continues a career spent largely in French football, where he has operated predominantly at left-back.
Born in Marseille and standing at 1.72m, Rocchia offers experience across several levels of the French pyramid. He has amassed more than 60 appearances in Ligue 2 and featured in Ligue 1 and European competition earlier in his career. His new club also secure a naturally left-footed defender with over 4,500 minutes of second-tier experience, as well as game time in the Coupe de France and Europa League.
Before his time at Aubagne Air Bel, Rocchia played for FC Villefranche and Aubagne FC, both moves coming on free transfers during the 2024-25 season. Earlier, he spent two years with Dijon after leaving Marseille in 2021, having come through the Marseille youth system and gained professional experience with loan spells at FC Sochaux.
Valenciennes have added a player whose current market value stands at around €200,000 and who has already scored in Ligue 2, National 1 and Ligue 3 during his senior career. Rocchia’s move to Valenciennes is effective from 21 July 2026 and ties him to the club for the next two seasons.
