Fabrice Ondoa: Cameroon goalkeeper linked with Hai Phong FC switch in V.League 1 move

Cameroon goalkeeper Fabrice Ondoa, currently without a club, is being linked with a move to Vietnamese top-flight side Hai Phong FC in V.League 1. The 30-year-old is a free agent and is understood to be under consideration as Hai Phong look to strengthen their goalkeeping options ahead of the next phase of their domestic campaign.

Ondoa’s status as unattached would allow Hai Phong to move outside of the traditional transfer window structures, and any deal would not require a transfer fee. His current estimated market value of around €300,000 underlines that he would represent a relatively low-cost addition in comparison with many established international goalkeepers.

The Cameroon international has spent recent months training independently following the end of his last contract and is believed to be open to offers that guarantee regular first-team football. A move to V.League 1 would represent a notable step, with Hai Phong aiming to add experience and depth in a key position.

At 30, Ondoa is entering what is typically regarded as a goalkeeper’s peak years, adding to the appeal for a club seeking a longer-term solution rather than short-term cover. While talks have not progressed to the stage of a completed agreement, the possibility of a free transfer gives Hai Phong room to manoeuvre as they assess their squad needs and foreign-player slots.

For now, Ondoa remains without a club as he evaluates his options, with Hai Phong emerging as one of the most concrete potential destinations on the table.
