Yanis Massolin: Inter’s Franco-Algerian playmaker linked with Monza move

France-Algeria attacking midfielder Yanis Massolin of Inter is being linked with a move to Serie A rivals Monza as the Lombardy club explore options to add height and creativity behind their forwards.

Massolin, 23, returned to Inter this summer after a loan spell at Modena and is under contract at San Siro until 30 June 2030, a situation that means any deal is likely to require a significant fee. His current market valuation stands at around €4.5m, giving an indication of the level at which Inter could begin negotiations if they decide to cash in.

Standing at 1.97m and operating primarily as an attacking midfielder, the left-footer has built his reputation in the Italian second tier. He made 28 Serie B appearances for Modena last season, contributing three goals and three assists, before his loan was formally ended and he rejoined Inter at the end of June.

Inter only secured Massolin on a permanent basis in February 2026, paying Modena about €3.5m on the same day they initially loaned him back, in a deal structured to allow him to continue playing regular football. Before his move to Italy he featured for Clermont Foot in Ligue 1 and gained further senior experience in France and Belgium, including a productive spell in the Challenger Pro League with Francs Borains.

Born in Moulins and eligible for both France and Algeria, Massolin has yet to establish himself in Inter’s first team, and his long-term contract gives the Nerazzurri flexibility as they weigh up whether to keep him in Simone Inzaghi’s squad or consider Monza’s interest.
