Moussa Sylla confirms Schalke stay after brace in pre-season

Moussa Sylla has made it clear he wants to stay at FC Schalke 04 despite recent transfer speculation.

After Schalke’s 4–2 friendly win over Erzgebirge Aue, the 26-year-old striker told WAZ that he intends to remain with the Royal Blues and help them survive in the Bundesliga. He backed up those words on the pitch by scoring twice, offering an early reminder of his importance.

“I will be there,” Sylla said when asked about the start of the league season. He added that his goal is to contribute goals and assists, and to give everything for the supporters because, in his view, they deserve it.

The Mali international also looked back on last season, when he briefly lost his place after the winter arrival of Edin Dzeko. Even then, he insisted he never felt derailed, saying he stayed focused, trusted the club’s backing and kept working until Schalke returned to the top flight.

His brace against Aue underlined that he is in good form heading into the new campaign. While competition for places in attack is set to increase, Sylla appears calm and determined. He is focused on staying in Gelsenkirchen and delivering a successful Bundesliga season.
