Espérance de Tunis bid farewell to Mohamed Tougai ahead of Al Ahli Tripoli move

Tunisian giants Espérance de Tunis have officially thanked Algerian defender Mohamed Tougai following his departure from the club as he prepares for a new chapter with Libyan side Al Ahli Tripoli.

The centre-back leaves Espérance after an impressive spell with the club, where he established himself as one of the team’s most reliable defensive figures.

Tougai’s exit brings an end to his time with the Tunisian giants, having played a key role in the club’s domestic and continental campaigns.

The Algerian international joined Espérance from NA Hussein Dey in 2020 and went on to become an important member of the squad.

His consistency at the back earned him recognition among the club’s supporters, while his performances also helped him maintain his place within the Algerian national team setup.

Tougai’s move to Al Ahli Tripoli is expected to be completed as the Libyan club continues preparations for the upcoming season.

Reports indicate that the two sides have reached an agreement for the defender’s transfer, with Al Ahli Tripoli set to strengthen their squad with the experienced centre-back.

During his time at Espérance, Tougai won several major honours, including Tunisian league titles and continental success, further cementing his reputation as one of the leading defenders in North African football.

Espérance expressed their appreciation for his contribution and wished him success in his next challenge, as the Algerian defender begins a fresh adventure away from Tunisia.
